• Info: Francis Poulenc is I would say the best-known of a group of French composers emerging in the early 20s that referred to themselves simply as "the Six". They sought to remove the "heavy", serious Germanic quality of late-Romantic Classical in various ways. The Nocturne #7 was written in 1935, and is IMO vintage Poulenc -- very illustrative of his style.
