• Info: Additional info: Wayne Shorter is a well known jazz saxophonist who played with The Jazz Messengers, the Miles Davis Quintet, and Weather Report. He was a prolific composer of jazz tunes. His compositions tend to be appealing melodically, and interesting harmonically. This one is a beautiful ballad with a dreamy kind of feel, and chord changes that are quite untypical and which occur in untypical places, in spite of which it remains a simple, hummable tune. Somehow, I stumbled upon a left hand accompaniment pattern which seems to fit well with the unusual harmonies, and I played it throughout. (Actually, I hear it in my sleep!) I am playing from a lead sheet.
