Info: I've been working on this piece constantly since the recital signup and it was plenty challenging, thank you very much.
My Chopin-loving ragtime piano teacher was so psyched that I was delving into classical waters that he had me polishing bits of this piece for months.
All the recording kit is a bit of a fluke. I lent someone my Zoom H6 last week, thinking she'd return it the next day. One day became a week and, when I asked her about it, it turns out she'd had to leave town for an family emergency.
I'd had this piece hanging over my head for months and was ready to record so I asked a favor from a friend who is an audio engineer and he came over with his kit.
Did about 8 takes and I wasn't feeling it, was missing notes, etc.
We all broke for dinner, much wine was had, and we decided to have a final go. This was the result. I'm happy with the feeling I ended up with.
So, dinner was endive salad with blue cheese, homemade pasta marinara, a baguette, olives, and more than a little sangiovese.
