Info: The first movement is the main thrust of this recording. My intention was to have both movements in one recording, but the 2nd movement is a lesser performance in this recording. Also, the 2nd movement has already been submitted in a previous recital. Please feel free to skip past it.
The 1st movement was the first classical piece I ever learned. It has been in my wheelhouse thus, for many years (40+), but has never received regular attention in this time. Although I'd been able to play the piece and bluff most people most of the time (rarely ever performed) with my rendition of it, I had never played it correctly to the score. I was quite aware that this would not fly so well with this audience :) . For this recital I have attempted to prepare it accurately to the score, although the end result was memorized.
I had also planned on recording this after we had dissected it at length in a Sonata Analysis Study Thread I was involved with soon after coming to PW in summer of 2012. This was my first introduction to meaningful theory and chord naming standards. I have fond memory of the time and I'm forever grateful to all who participated, and in the many related threads that followed. It was the beginning of a continuation of learning that had not progressed for many years prior. It also culminated in a renewed appreciation for this great work.
Thank you for listening.
