Music Source: Sheet music from a collector/ archiver of old movies and posters/movie theme scores from England.
Instrument: PX 100 Casio ,
Recording Method: The first , - a direct a/v cable to my laptop from my Casio PX 100 , played with the sound layers of piano/strings.
2. The 2nd, is a midi cable (at the same time) recording the midi data.
I used the freeware program QSynth to channel the MIDI data through a sound-font called "Roland Piano: 64 voice"
Annnnnd .....Theennnnn ,,,,,,, recorded the audio output through my sound card in Cakewalk's Plasma.(redid this in Logic ) with a Steinway Font.
You could do this with Windows sound recorder and qsynth and midi-ox ..which is both freeware . Yet with either, you'll need a drink afterwards. For me, my computer kept freezing, and I had to reboot several times before I got it "together" in one take.
Info: I heard the song in the movie because the musical is coming to PGH. I rented the DVD from the library. It was old but I enjoy old movies, I esp liked the song here , so I found the original online after a long search and bought it .
