Instrument: Kawai CS6 + VI Labs True Keys German VST
Recording Method:
Info: Having played Liszt, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Field, Scarlatti, Beethoven, and Elgar in the previous recitals, this time I thought I should pick another different composer: Sibelius.
This lovely Serenade by Sibelius is the ninth piece from the 10 Pensees Lyriques. I don't know much about Sibelius' music, but I stumbled upon this little piece and was immediately moved by it. It is a very simple piece with a sweet repeating melody. I especially love the middle section with the melody floating lightly above a background of trills.
I've just recently bought the VI Labs True Keys German VST (Bechstein Semi-concert grand) and I think it works brilliantly with this piece. The bright, crystalline brilliance of the treble and high treble of a Bechstein is just absolutely gorgeous.
