• Info: Of late my approach to the recital has been to do one take as it is usually my best, unfortunately fate decided no this time and I had to have a few goes. My first attempts included video but I dropped that idea after the failure of take 2 !!! I think this is take 6 though takes 3 & 4 were only seconds long due to me inexplicably going blank a few bars in! This version of 'First Tide' is actually 2 tunes I wrote some years ago shoehorned together with a brief linking section (a few bars where I use the Piano/string sound on my Roland). There is quite a bit of improvisation in the second half of the piece and not everything went as well as I had hoped (particulaly the ending !) but that is the thing with improvisation, never quite sure what is going to happen, I'll keep trying and maybe one day............... Life got in the way last recital and I didn't get to finish my comments, so apologies for that.
